Eye donation becomes a family tradition in Sunel; third eye donation in the region completed

####Despite High Fever and Severe Cold, Eye Donation Collected After Traveling 130 km from Kota

Sunel town witnessed an inspiring act of humanity and service late Saturday night when the family of Chandraprakash Chopra, former President of the Trade Federation, senior grain merchant, and noted social worker, decided to donate his eyes after his demise.

After receiving the family’s consent, Dr. Kulwant Gaur of Shine India Foundation, along with coordinator Kamlesh Gupta Dalal, reached Sunel late at night and successfully completed the cornea retrieval process.

Dinesh Gupta, State Co-in-charge for Eye Donation, Bharat Vikas Parishad, informed that following the demise of Chandraprakash Chopra due to a heart attack, city coordinator Kamlesh Gupta Dalal (Bhavanimandi) held discussions with family members—brother Kailashchand, son Mahesh, daughter Neetu, and son-in-law Vikas Jain—regarding eye donation. As eye donation had already been performed earlier in the Chopra family, the family readily gave its consent.

Upon receiving the information, Dr. Kulwant Gaur traveled 130 kilometers from Kota and reached Sunel at around 11 PM to carry out the eye donation procedure. Notably, Dr. Gaur had been suffering from high fever for the past two days, yet despite the severe cold, he fulfilled his humanitarian duty with dedication.

Several members including Ashok Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Sanjay Fofaliya, Devilal Soni, Chain Singh Gurjar, and Tej Kumar Gurjar extended their cooperation during the process. After the completion of the eye donation, the family was presented with a certificate of appreciation and an Eye Donation Honor Plaque.

With the support of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Shine India Foundation has now completed the third eye donation in the Sunel region. It is noteworthy that two years ago, Chandraprakash Chopra’s wife Sushila Devi Chopra had also donated her eyes. This makes them the first husband-and-wife eye donors in the Sunel area.

Expressing gratitude, Chandraprakash Chopra’s son Mahesh Chopra, son Anshul Chopra, and brother Kailashchand Chopra thanked the Shine India Foundation team and stated that through eye donation, their father’s vision has been made eternal.
