###Vande Mataram @150: Udaipur Resonates with Patriotic Pride on 77th Republic Day

Udaipur, The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Udaipur district with great enthusiasm, dignity and patriotic spirit. The district-level main function was organised at Gandhi Ground, where the atmosphere echoed with the inspiring strains of Vande Mataram, commemorating 150 years of the iconic national song.

Minister Babulal Kharadi Hoists National Flag, Takes March Past Salute

The main function was graced by Tribal Area Development and Home Guards Minister Mr. Babulal Kharadi, who hoisted the National Flag and extended Republic Day greetings to the people. After the flag hoisting, the Minister inspected the parade and took the salute of the march past.

Contingents of Rajasthan Police, Home Guards, NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides marched in perfect coordination to band music, evoking pride and patriotic zeal among the spectators.

ADM (Administration) Mr. Dipendra Singh read out the Governor’s message on the occasion.


Dignitaries Present at the Function

Those present included MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, City MLA Tarachand Jain, Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani, IG Gaurav Srivastava, District Collector Namit Mehta, SP Yogesh Goyal, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Zila Parishad CEO Riya Dabi, Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna, SDM Girwa Avula Saikrishna, IAS Trainee Srishti Dabas, SDM Badgaon Latika Paliwal, public representatives, senior officials, families of martyrs and freedom fighters, students and citizens.


Parade Becomes Highlight of the Function

The parade, conducted under the guidance of retired military officer Premshankar Shrimali and led by Parade Commander RI Gulab Singh, remained the main attraction of the function. Disciplined formations and synchronized steps drew loud applause, with the entire ground echoing slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.

Tribute to Martyrs and Freedom Fighters

During the function, the Minister and senior officials honoured the families of Martyr Lieutenant Abhinav Nagauri, Martyr Ratanlal Meena, and the wife of freedom fighter Kanhaiyalal Paliwal, by presenting shawls and coconuts as a mark of respect.

Cultural Performances and Mass PT Displays Add Colour

Students from the Deaf Higher Secondary School and Central Public Senior Secondary School presented impressive mass PT displays.
Students of St. Anthony’s School, Balicha, captivated the audience with a vibrant patriotic group dance.

A special attraction was the performance by the Central Jail inmates’ orchestra group, which presented Operation Sindoor and Vande Mataram, filling the function with enthusiasm and national pride.
The function concluded with the National Anthem by students of Residency School.


Tableaux Reflect Development and Social Awareness

Tableaux displayed by various departments highlighted themes such as robotic education, women and child welfare, prevention of child marriage, anti-drug awareness, health services, forensic reforms under new criminal laws, and animal insurance schemes.
The Women and Child Development Department secured first prize, while the Animal Husbandry and Medical Departments jointly won second prize.

Journalists Honoured for Dedicated Service

During the main function, journalists were honoured for their significant contribution to responsible journalism and public awareness.
Those honoured included:Mr. Pankaj Vaishnav, Chief Reporter, Rajasthan Patrika,Mr. Anoop Parashar, Journalist, Dainik Bhaskar,Mr. Gopal Dashora, Journalist, Dainik Bhaskar, &Mr. Prakash Sharma, Senior Journalist

They were felicitated with certificates of appreciation for their professional commitment and service to society.

Republic Day Celebrated Across Offices

Republic Day functions were held across all government and private offices in the district.
Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani hoisted the flag at her office, District Collector Namit Mehta at the Collectorate and his official residence, District & Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Gupta at the court premises, and Deputy Director Gaurikant Sharma at the Information & Public Relations Office.
