Udaipur | Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm at the central-level ceremony held in the premises of the College of Agriculture. The occasion witnessed a vibrant display of patriotism, discipline, and cultural pride.
The ceremony began with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot and Chancellor & Kul Pramukh Bhawar Lal Gurjar unfurling the national flag and taking the salute of an impressive march-past. Students from NCC Cadets, Air Wing, Homeopathy College, Physiotherapy College, B.Ed., M.Ed., D.El.Ed., OCDS, Girls’ College, and other institutions participated with exemplary discipline.
Students captivated the audience with colourful cultural performances, patriotic songs, Rajasthani folk presentations, and powerful theatrical enactments conveying the spirit of nationalism and unity. On this occasion, NCC cadets who participated at the national level and meritorious students awarded the Gargi Award were honoured with certificates and mementos by the dignitaries.
Presiding over the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot emphasized that the Constitution not only grants rights to citizens but also instills a deep sense of responsibility towards the nation. He stated that the spirit and values embedded in the Constitution strengthen national character and consciousness.
He further highlighted that true national progress is possible only when citizens give equal importance to their duties along with rights, especially in today’s era of global competition, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence. He stressed the need for value-based and ethical education.
Prof. Sarangdevot also underlined the importance of integrating education with philosophy, traditional knowledge, environmental protection, yoga, Vedic studies, and skill-based training to prepare a capable and responsible youth for future challenges. He said that value-oriented education is the key to establishing India as a strong global force.

Addressing the gathering, Chancellor & Kul Pramukh Bhawar Lal Gurjar said that India attained independence after immense sacrifices by countless freedom fighters. To govern the nation effectively, a strong and comprehensive Constitution was essential, which the Constitution-makers shaped with tireless dedication.
He described the Indian Constitution as the soul of the nation, stating that it has given India global recognition as a proud and great democratic country. He urged the youth to read and understand the Constitution.
Highlighting the evolutionary journey of the Constitution, Gurjar stressed the need to continuously safeguard its dignity, values, and core principles. He also emphasized the importance of ethical values and skill development, stating that only a harmonious blend of value-based education and skills can lead to strong nation-building.
