Udaipur/New Delhi.Strong opposition has been expressed against the newly introduced UGC rules by Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha 1897 Mool. The organization’s National Patron and former Vice Chancellor, Professor Amarika Singh, has sharply criticized the move and urged the central government to withdraw the rules with immediate effect.
Professor Singh stated that the new regulations issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) are against the spirit of higher education and pose a serious threat to the autonomy and independence of universities. He alleged that the government, deviating from its stated vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas – Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” is imposing what he termed a “black law” on a particular section of society, thereby weakening the social fabric of the nation.
He warned that the implementation of these rules could lead to an increase in criminal incidents on university campuses, deterioration of the academic environment, and growing hostility among different sections of society. According to him, the new rules are not constructive for social development; rather, they are divisive in nature and may severely damage India’s education system.
The Mahasabha has appealed to the Narendra Modi government to immediately roll back the new UGC regulations and ensure that the autonomy and freedom of universities are protected through meaningful consultation with all stakeholders.
