Inter-School Classical Dance Competition: “Krishna Leela” Performances Captivate Audience

Udaipur: A grand inter-school classical dance competition was held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir, Ambamata, Udaipur, with the theme **“Krishna Leela.”** The chief guest for the event was Colonel Naresh Kumar Bhagasara, Group Commander, NCC.

The program began with **Saraswati Vandana** – *“Maa Sharde Maa Sharde”* – and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The school band welcomed the guests. Participants beautifully staged various **leelas (divine pastimes)**, stories, and episodes of Lord Krishna through expressive and captivating classical dance performances.

The school girls mesmerized the audience with a graceful **Ashtapadi composition**, while young tabla players delivered an impressive performance featuring **Teen Taal, Uthan, Kaida, and Keharwa**, concluding elegantly with a **Tihai**.

In her address, Mrs. Nivriti Kumari Mewar emphasized that **classical arts are a priceless part of India’s cultural heritage**, and themes like “Krishna Leela” serve as a powerful medium to connect the younger generation to their roots. She appreciated the students’ talent, the guidance of teachers, and the school’s efforts, wishing the event great success.

Principal Mrs. Pratima Sharma announced the competition results: **Step by Step High School** secured first place, **Junior Study** came second, and **St. Anthony School** took third place. Winners were awarded **trophies, certificates, and medals.** Honorary Director S.K. Sharma was also present on the occasion.

Chief guest Colonel Naresh Kumar Bhagasara remarked that **classical dance is a vibrant expression of Indian culture and traditions**, and such events help students develop **discipline, values, and a deeper appreciation for the arts.**
