Jaipur:** Mr. **Amit Sudarshan** assumed charge as the **Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO)** of North Western Railway on Friday, taking over from outgoing CPRO **Captain Shashikiran**.
Mr. Sudarshan is an officer of the **Indian Railway Traffic Service, 2015 batch**. Prior to this appointment, he served at the North Western Railway headquarters as **Deputy Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Services & Passenger Marketing).** He holds a **Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee** and a **PGDBA from IIM Kolkata.**
With extensive experience in **railway commercial and operational domains**, Mr. Sudarshan has previously served as **Assistant Commercial Manager – Jhansi, Divisional Operations Manager – Agra, Divisional Transport Manager, and Deputy Chief Transport Manager – Tundla.** Notably, he played a key role in operating **special trains during the Mahakumbh event** and contributed significantly to train operations on the **DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor) line** while posted in Agra and Tundla.

Captain Shashikiran’s tenure as North Western Railway’s CPRO has been widely praised. According to senior journalist and former ZRUCC member **Bhim Sharma**, Captain Shashikiran earned a reputation as a **media-friendly officer**, promptly providing news and departmental information. His tenure as a dynamic CPRO is considered **memorable**, and he will now serve as the **Chief Project Manager (Rolling Stock) for North Western Railway.**
