Weekly Inspection of Central and Women’s Jail Conducted
Udaipur: Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, and following the directions of District Legal Services Authority Chairperson & District and Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Gupta, Secretary ADJ Kuldeep Sharma conducted the weekly inspection of the Central Jail and Women’s Jail in Udaipur.
During the inspection of the Central Jail, ADJ Sharma reviewed the provision of free legal aid to inmates, medical appeals, meals, snacks, visitation facilities, STD services, and other essential amenities. The inspection also included an assessment of the basic needs of the prisoners. Jail Superintendent Rajpal Singh was present during the inspection.
Special instructions were issued regarding inmates’ appeals and access to free legal aid, and awareness was created about NALSA Helpline 15100, NALSA Portal, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Scheme, Legal Aid Clinics, and other related schemes. The initiative aimed to ensure that prisoners are fully informed of the services and support available to them.
