Nathdwara: The Sahitya Mandal Shrinathdwara is set to organize a grand two-day Patotsav Brij Bhasha Festival on February 8 and 9, 2026, at the Bhagwati Prasad Devpura Auditorium, Nathdwara. The event will bring together eminent litterateurs, scholars, journalists, and students from across the country to celebrate Brij Bhasha, Indian philosophy, and literary excellence.
Sharing details, Shyam Prakash Devpura, Prime Convener of the institution, said that the festival will feature intensive intellectual deliberations (Upanishadic churning) by renowned scholars on philosophy as reflected in the works of great Bhakti poets. Along with scholarly lectures, the programme will include a Brij Bhasha Kavi Sammelan, book releases, and a large-scale felicitation ceremony.
More than 103 litterateurs, journalists, and meritorious students will be honoured with prestigious decorations and honorary titles during the event.
Scholarly Sessions on Bhakti Poetry
The Brij Bhasha Upanishad sessions will focus on philosophical interpretations of Bhakti poetry. Scholars including Gopal Krishna Dubey (Vrindavan) on Kumbhandas, Brajbhushan Chaturvedi ‘Deepak’ (Vrindavan) on Surdas, Hariom ‘Hari’ (Bharatpur) on Govinddas, and Smt. Santosh ‘Richa’ (Raya–Mathura) on Nanddas will deliver lectures in the first session.
The second session will feature Suresh Kumar Sharma (Bharatpur) on Chheet Swami, Shri Krishna Sharad (Kasganj) on Parmananddas, Narendra Nirmal (Bharatpur) on Chaturbhuj Das, and Satyendra Yadav (Kota) on Shri Krishnadas. A special Samasyapoorati programme will also be held, featuring poetic discussions in traditional forms.
Major Literary Honours
Prominent literary figures including Basant Singh Solanki (Udaipur), Dr. Giri Girivar (Kota), Rajendra Prasad Shantey (Jhalawar), and Akshaylata Sharma (Jaipur) will be among those honoured with prestigious literary titles. Several national-level awards such as Brij Ghazal Shri, Hindi Sahitya ManiShi, Brij Bhasha Manishi, Hindi Kavya Manishi, and Bhagwati Prasad Devpura Smriti Samman will be conferred.
The festival will also honour contributors in social service, blood donation, and cultural service, recognizing their outstanding commitment to society.
Journalists and Students to be Felicitated
As part of the celebration, 38 journalists from Nathdwara, Kankroli, and Rajsamand regions will be honoured for their contribution to journalism with the title Patrakar Shri.
Continuing its tradition, the Sahitya Mandal will also felicitate meritorious students who have excelled in various academic examinations with the Vidyarthi Ratna honour.
Hospitality for Guests
Devpura informed that for awardees arriving from outside Nathdwara, free accommodation and meals will be arranged by the Sahitya Mandal upon prior intimation.
