Udaipur: Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) has reaffirmed its emergence as one of Rajasthan’s most progressive private universities by unveiling a comprehensive roadmap that blends AI-enabled admissions, strong industry partnerships, research excellence and a fully operational sustainable campus. The announcements were made during a detailed press conference held at the university campus to formally declare Admissions 2026 and share key institutional developments.
The press interaction was chaired by Prof. Prithvi Yadav, Vice Chancellor, SPSU. Present on the dais were Prof. (Dr.) Prasun Chakravarti, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Uday, Registrar; Dr. Amit, Dean – Engineering; Dr. Naveen, Dean – Engineering; Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Media In-Charge; and Col. H.P. Singh, Campus Director. Senior faculty members, department heads and representatives of the local media were also present.
Admissions 2026 Announced with AI-Led Innovation
While announcing Admissions 2026, SPSU unveiled a major technological milestone with the launch of AIRA, an AI-powered admission assistant robot developed entirely in-house by SPSU students and faculty. With this initiative, SPSU has become the first university in Udaipur to deploy robotic assistance for the complete admission process.
Two AIRA robots have been developed—one installed on the main campus and another at the SPSU City Office on Ashok Nagar Road. AIRA assists students and parents with real-time information on academic programs, eligibility criteria, application procedures and campus facilities through interactive voice response and touchscreen support. The same AI interface will soon be integrated into the university website, enabling virtual admission guidance for students across India and abroad.
Currently operational in English, AIRA is being upgraded with Indian English accent, Hindi language capability and reduced response delay, making it more user-friendly for regional parents and students. Notably, while similar robots available in the market cost close to ₹18 lakh per unit, SPSU has developed AIRA at a cost of just over ₹1 lakh, using its 3D printing, electronics and design laboratories, with active contributions from B.Tech Electronics and B.Design students.
Admissions Process Now Fully In-House
One of the most significant announcements during the press conference was SPSU’s strategic decision to move to a completely in-house admission model, eliminating dependence on external consultants.
The decision is backed by strong outcomes—nearly 80 percent of admissions last year were secured without consultants, reversing earlier trends. Encouraged by this success, the university has placed the entire admission process under the supervision of a four-member senior Admission Committee, reflecting growing institutional confidence, brand value and trust among students and parents across Udaipur and Rajasthan.
Industry Partnerships Powering Placements
SPSU informed that the placement process for the current academic cycle will continue till June, with impressive outcomes already achieved. The university recorded 100 percent placements last year, with the highest package at ₹13 LPA. In the ongoing cycle, around 70 percent students have already been placed, with the highest package touching ₹20 LPA and the average package improving to ₹6.6 LPA. More than 60–70 companies are still scheduled to visit the campus.
A major highlight is SPSU’s academic affiliation with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Under this initiative, a nine-month intensive training program, which began in September and concludes in February, is being conducted on campus by TCS professionals. After completion, students will become eligible to apply for placements at TCS, marking a rare instance where a global IT major is training an entire batch within a university campus.
SPSU has also signed a landmark MoU with Bajaj Auto under the Bajaj STEP Skill Development Program. Bajaj Auto is investing nearly ₹1 crore to establish a dedicated skill development laboratory at SPSU, offering programs ranging from three months to one year with assured placement, making SPSU the first university in Rajasthan to host such a facility.
Sustainability Embedded in Campus Life
The university announced that SPSU has been officially certified as a fully sustainable campus, following third-party audits covering green practices, energy efficiency, waste management, biodiversity conservation and campus mapping.
Sustainability initiatives at SPSU include CNG-based transport, restricted vehicle movement, solar power installations, fly-ash brick construction, electric campus buses designed in-house, biodiversity parks and herbal gardens. The university has also applied under the Sustainability Category of NIRF.
To further this mission, SPSU will host a Sustainability Conclave on February 2, inaugurated by Rajendra Singh, with participation from 16 national and international organisations and a school-level sustainability model exhibition involving 28 schools.
Research with Regional and Global Impact
SPSU highlighted its growing research footprint, recording 144 Scopus-indexed publications and 45 granted international patents in the last year. Two faculty members have been ranked among the world’s top 3 percent scientists, while the university has achieved global rankings of 43rd in Underground Water Research and 45th in Geochemistry (2025).
On going research focuses on mining sustainability, groundwater salinity, fluoride impact and environmental analytics, directly addressing challenges relevant to Rajasthan.
Strengthening Distinctive Academic Programs
While no completely new programs are being launched for 2026, SPSU is strengthening industry-linked and unique courses, including BPA – Sports Management, B.Tech Paint Technology sponsored by JK Paints, BBA with paid internships supported by JK Cement, the five-year integrated MBA Tech program, and fully approved BA LLB and LLB programs.
Growing Trust and Regional Connect
With nearly 2,000 students currently enrolled and around 450 out of 600 admissions last year coming from Rajasthan, SPSU continues to grow as a trusted regional institution with national and global ambitions.
The press conference concluded with an appeal to the media to carry these developments to the public, reinforcing SPSU’s vision of innovation-driven, industry-relevant and socially responsible higher education.
