Jaipur: Indian Army and Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences & Technology (MGUMST) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on 03 Feb 2026, marking a significant step towards providing medical education, training, and advanced healthcare services to serving and retired Army personnel and their wards.
The MoU was signed in the august presence of the Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander Sapta Shakti Command, highlighting the significance of this partnership. The collaboration aims to provide scholarship to children of Indian Army Personnel and extending tangible benefits to serving and retired Indian Army personnel.
Under the agreement, meritorious children of Army personnel securing admission to Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Mahatma Gandhi Dental College will be awarded scholarships amounting to Rs. 1,00,000 per annum. In addition, students admitted to other allied health institutions under Mahatma Gandhi University of Health and Science will be eligible for scholarships equivalent to 33% of the prescribed tuition fee.
The MoU also provides free medical and surgical management (excluding medicines and disposables) for serving and retired Army personnel in cases where advanced treatment facilities are not available in Army Medical Establishments and where such treatment is not covered under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS).
This partnership underscores MGUMST's commitment to academic excellence, social responsibility, and continued support to the Indian Armed Forces.
