Udaipur Centre Receives Eight Accession Numbers for Wild Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms

Udaipur: The Udaipur Centre of the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Mushrooms, operating under the Directorate of Research, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, has been allotted eight mushroom accession numbers for wild edible and medicinal mushrooms for the year 2025.
Project In-charge Professor Narayan Lal Meena informed that the Udaipur Centre is one of the research centres functioning under the Mushroom Research Directorate of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Chambaghat, Solan. He stated that the centre had submitted 76 samples and cultures of edible and medicinal wild mushrooms, collected from various regions of Rajasthan, to the Mushroom Research Directorate for the purpose of registration and allotment of accession (license) numbers.
Following evaluation, eight accession numbers have been officially granted to the AICRP on Mushrooms, Udaipur Centre. Professor Meena described this achievement as a significant milestone and a notable research accomplishment for the centre.
