BN University Hosts Grand Finale of Five-Day West Zone Inter-University Basketball Tournament

Udaipur: The fourth day of the five-day West Zone Inter-University Basketball Tournament, hosted for the first time by Vidya Pracharini Sabha Bhupal Nobles University, saw an exciting display of sportsmanship and competition. The day began with the introduction of players by Sukhadia University Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.P. Saraswat, Executive President Prof. Shivsinh Sarangdevot, Minister Dr. Mahendra Singh Agria, Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rupakhedi, Joint Minister Rajendra Singh Tana, Finance Minister Shakti Singh Karohi, and several members including Prof. Yuvraj Singh Rathore, Naval Singh Jud, Karan Singh Umri, Kamaleshwar Singh Kaccher, among others.
After intense semifinals on Friday, the medal matches for Gold, Silver, and Bronze will be held on Saturday. The tournament will conclude at 4 PM on Saturday at the Maharana Pratap Sports Ground of the institute.
Honoring Prof. B.P. Saraswat
During his first visit to Bhupal Nobles University, Vice-Chancellor of Sukhadia University, Prof. B.P. Saraswat, was honored with a turban, ceremonial scarf, and memento by Executive President Prof. Shivsinh Sarangdevot, Minister Dr. Mahendra Singh Agria, MD Mohabbat Singh Rupakhedi, Joint Minister Rajendra Singh Tana, and Finance Minister Shakti Singh Karohi. Prof. Saraswat highlighted the importance of preserving the institute’s culture and traditions for future generations. On this occasion, Examination Controller Dr. Mukesh Barber was also felicitated.
Tournament Highlights
According to Sports Board Chairman Dr. Abhimanyu Singh Rathore, on the fourth day of the tournament, host BN University defeated Savitribai Phule University, Pune, by 15 points to qualify for the All India Basketball Championship, where they will compete for medals in the West Zone on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Marathwada University eliminated Sukhadia University with a 26-point victory, while Mumbai University beat LNIP Gwalior University by 8 points, and Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, defeated BITS Pilani by 15 points to secure their spots in the finals.
The stage is now set for thrilling medal contests, promising an action-packed grand finale for the five-day event.
