Udaipur: Under the special cleanliness campaign “Mera Udaipur – Meri Pehchan”, being conducted across the city on the initiative of District Collector Shri Namit Mehta, a cleanliness and voluntary service (Shramdaan) programme was organized on Saturday at the embankment of the city’s prominent tourist destination, Fateh Sagar Lake. The campaign is being implemented by the Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration (HCM RIPA). Officers and trainees of the institute participated enthusiastically, conveying a strong message of environmental protection and cleanliness.
Deputy Director (Accounts) and Course Director Shri Mahendra Singh Seemar informed that all trainees of Institutional Training Batch-06 of Junior Accountants actively participated in the Shramdaan programme. The trainees collected plastic waste, garbage, and other discarded materials scattered along the lake embankment, carried out cleaning activities, and also sensitized the general public about maintaining cleanliness.
The special campaign “Mera Udaipur – Meri Pehchan”, being conducted till March 31 on the initiative of District Collector Shri Namit Mehta, aims to make the city clean, beautiful, and environmentally conscious. Such voluntary service programmes not only contribute to improving cleanliness but also strengthen the spirit of social responsibility and public participation among citizens.
During the Shramdaan, trainees were also briefed on the importance of cleanliness, creating a plastic-free environment, and conserving natural heritage sites. Participants took a pledge to follow cleanliness practices themselves and motivate others in society to do the same.
It is noteworthy that keeping the upcoming cleanliness survey in view, the district administration is continuously conducting special drives at various public places across the city, ensuring the active participation of educational institutions, voluntary organizations, and the general public.
