Udaipur: As part of their Winter Study Tour, the Trainee IAS Officers of the 2025 batch visited Shilpgram in Udaipur on Sunday. During the visit, the 11-member group of trainee officers witnessed vibrant performances of various folk art forms at the Banjara Stage.
Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Furqan Khan, informed that the officers were first welcomed with flower bouquets at the main entrance of Shilpgram. Thereafter, Deputy Director (Programs) of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Pawan Amarawat, guided them through Shilpgram and provided detailed information about the traditional huts representing different states, the sculpture park, and the rural setting showcased there.
The trainee officers then enjoyed enthralling folk performances by artists, including Langa–Manganiyar, Kalbelia, Gondhal, Chakri, Dang, and other folk traditions at the Banjara Stage. They also took a group photograph with the artists. On the concluding occasion, batch representative Archit shared his views on the promotion of Indian art and the welfare of artists. The program was conducted by Dr. Mohita Dixit.
On this occasion, Assistant Director (Finance & Accounts) of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Durgesh Chandwani; Superintending Engineer C. L. Salvi; Dayaram Suthar; Siddhant Bhatnagar; Sunil Nimawat; Mahendra Singh Gehlot; Kanhaiyalal Dangi; Chain Singh; Mukul, along with officers and staff of the Centre, were also present.
