Sriganganagar: Former Union Minister **Shri Nihalchand** addressed a gathering of traders, entrepreneurs, and citizens at the BJP office on Suratgarh Road on Sunday, providing detailed insights into the **Union Budget 2026**. He highlighted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister **Shri Narendra Modi** and Finance Minister **Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman**, the budget aims to empower youth, farmers, Scheduled Castes, and women, while laying a roadmap for a **developed India by 2047**.
Shri Nihalchand noted that the budget has made **17 life-saving medicines for cancer and diabetes more affordable**. Additionally, prices of mobile phones, daily essentials, and electric vehicles have been reduced.
The budget allocates **₹2.73 lakh crore** for rural development and focuses on **agriculture, healthcare, education, and skill development**. Plans include **Content Creator Labs in 15,000 schools** and **skill development programs for 10,000 tourist guides**. The government aims to establish India as a **global hub for manufacturing and pharmaceuticals** while emphasizing infrastructure and connectivity. Special attention has been given to **small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)**, with a **₹10,000 crore growth fund** announced.
In agriculture, the focus is on **high-income crops, fisheries, and livestock**, aiming to increase farmers’ earnings. The budget also proposes the construction of **hostels for girls in every district** and the development of **7 high-speed rail corridors**, with priority given to **Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities**. Capital expenditure for FY2027 has been increased to **₹12.2 lakh crore**, and the **Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj initiative** has been launched.
For Scheduled Castes, the budget provides **₹6,360 crore for post-matric scholarships** and **₹2,140 crore under the PM Scheduled Caste Abhiyan scheme**. For Scheduled Tribes, **₹1,06,400 crore** has been allocated for welfare programs. Shri Nihalchand emphasized that this is a **pro-development budget**, benefitting **farmers, women, youth, traders, and marginalized communities**, promoting inclusive growth under the principle of “**Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas**.”
