Weekly Inspection of Central Jail Conducted
Udaipur: Under the directions of Gyan Prakash Gupta, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, the weekly inspection of the Central Jail, Udaipur was conducted by Authority Secretary ADJ Kuldeep Sharma.
ADJ Sharma stated that during the inspection, officials reviewed provisions for free legal aid, medical appeals, meals, snacks, visitation, STD facilities, and other inmate services. Superintendent of Central Jail, Rajpal Singh, was also present.
Special instructions were issued regarding inmates’ appeals and access to free legal aid, while awareness was raised about NALSA Helpline 15100, the NALSA Portal, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Scheme, Legal Aid Clinics, and other related programs.
During the inspection, attention was also paid to the cooling arrangements in the jail canteen, considering the heat faced by the inmates. The public and concerned departments were requested to coordinate with the Superintendent of Central Jail, Udaipur, for the purchase of new coolers to improve inmate comfort.
