World’s Largest “Constitution Ghazal” on Parchment to Be Displayed in Udaipur

Udaipur’s renowned gold artisan Dr. Iqbal Sakka (77) will showcase the world’s largest handwritten “Constitution Ghazal” on parchment on the occasion of Republic Day. The unique creation, which has been registered in three world record books, will be exhibited at the Sakka International Museum on January 24, 25, and 26.

Key Features of the Handwritten “Constitution Ghazal”

  • It is the world’s longest “Constitution Ghazal” written on a parchment sheet.

  • India’s original Constitution was also written on parchment.

  • The first page of the “Constitution Ghazal” is inscribed in silver.

  • The manuscript comprises 120 pages and contains 615 couplets (shers).

  • Just like the original Indian Constitution, whose pages are adorned with artwork, this “Constitution Ghazal” is decorated with Rajasthani and Warli paintings.

  • The dimensions of the 120-page manuscript are 58.4 cm in height and 47.7 cm in width—identical to the size of the original Constitution of India.

  • The total weight of the manuscript is 13 kilograms, the same as the original Constitution.

  • The couplets have been composed in alignment with the structure and principles of constitutional articles.

This remarkable artistic and literary work pays tribute to the spirit of the Indian Constitution while blending craftsmanship, poetry, and traditional art forms.
