PCCM Reviews Commercial Systems During Kota Division Visit, Issues Key Directions
Kota | Mr. Arvind Kumar Rajak, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) of West Central Railway, conducted a detailed inspection of the Commercial Department during his visit to the Kota Division. The review focused on the department’s functioning, operational arrangements, and contract management systems. The objective of the inspection was to assess the ground realities of commercial activities in the division and to enhance transparency and efficiency in monitoring mechanisms.
During the inspection, various commercial contracts related to catering, parking, parcel services, housekeeping, pay-and-use facilities, and expenditure management were reviewed. To streamline and simplify continuous monitoring of contract progress, compliance, and inspection reports, the PCCM launched an integrated e-portal/app developed for this purpose. The digital platform will provide an “at-a-glance” view of the current status and progress of various contracts, ensuring timely supervision and better control.
Mr. Rajak described the initiative as commendable, stating that digital contract management would enhance transparency and accountability. He also indicated that, after necessary modifications and technical upgrades, the system could be expanded at the zonal level in the future.
As part of the inspection, he also visited major commercial units of the division, including goods sidings, booking offices, yards, and parcel offices, and reviewed their functioning with the concerned officials.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Saurabh Jain, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Mr. Vinod Kumar Meena, Divisional Commercial Managers Mr. Kishore Kumar Patel and Mr. Gajendra Kumar Trivedi, Assistant Commercial Managers Mr. Jitendra Singh Sohal and Mr. Amit Verma, along with other officers and supervisors, were present during the inspection.
