Solar Cooker Awareness Programme Organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad Subhash

A solar cooker awareness programme was organised at the local level by the Subhash unit of Bharat Vikas Parishad. On the occasion, Dr. Manju Jain, Vice President, provided detailed information to women about the usage and working mechanism of a solar cooker.

Dr. Jain explained that a solar cooker works by reflecting sunlight and converting it into heat energy, enabling safe and nutritious cooking without the use of gas or electricity. She highlighted that this method not only conserves conventional fuels but also promotes clean and renewable energy.

During the programme, Dr. Jain gave a live demonstration by preparing kheer and roasting peanuts in the solar cooker. The members of the city council present at the event tasted the freshly prepared kheer and peanuts. Women participated enthusiastically and gained awareness about environmental protection, fuel conservation, and health benefits associated with solar cooking.

Dr. Jain emphasized that by adopting solar cookers, families can achieve financial savings while contributing to environmental conservation through the promotion of clean energy.

Mrs. Asha Mehta from Banswara, National Women Participation Activity Member of the North-West Region of Bharat Vikas Parishad, also addressed the gathering and spoke about the usefulness of solar cookers.

Among those present were Dr. P.C. Jain, Provincial In-charge for De-addiction and Water Conservation; President Ranjeet Lal Jain; Secretary Shobha Lal Dashora; District Women Coordinator Rekha Dhakad; District Convenor Surendra Jain; and several other council members.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
