Udaipur: District Collector Namit Mehta on Monday released a special documentary film dedicated to the distinct identity of Udaipur district, focusing on the theme of ‘Panch Gaurav’. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Mehta said that the Panch Gaurav initiative will enhance Udaipur district’s cultural, natural, and economic development. He emphasized that Panch Gaurav is not merely a symbol, but represents Udaipur’s identity, self-pride, and pillars of its development journey. The documentary aims to familiarize the youth with the district’s unique features while promoting local products and tourism.
The documentary has been prepared under the direction of Shri Gaurikant Sharma, Deputy Director of the Information and Public Relations Department. Shri Sharma explained that the film highlights Udaipur’s globally renowned marble and granite industry under the concept of “One District, One Product.” It showcases how these high-quality stones have carved a distinct identity nationally and internationally, while artistic sculptures contribute significantly to local employment.
As a symbol of tourism pride, Udaipur’s lifelines—Pichola Lake and Fatehsagar Lake—are presented in the film with stunning visuals. The documentary emphasizes their beauty, historical significance, and contribution to tourism.
The documentary also features important forest products like Mahua and Sitaphal (custard apple), illustrating how these products are deeply linked to the livelihood, traditions, and economy of tribal areas. Additionally, the local sport of Tera-Ki and swimmers who have brought national and international recognition to the district are showcased.
