Microvascular Surgery Reattaches Severed Thumb of 17-Year-Old, Restoring His Future

The patient, a resident of Kotri (Bhilwara), was cleaning his motorcycle chain when his thumb suddenly got caught in it and was completely severed. His family first rushed him to a local hospital in Kotri, where he received primary treatment before being referred elsewhere. At a private hospital in Bhilwara, doctors suggested suturing the wound.
Seeking better care, the family contacted another private hospital, which immediately referred the patient to Geetanjali Hospital in Udaipur. Without delay, the family brought him to Udaipur.

Following the surgery, the patient’s thumb is safe and functional, and the overall functionality of his hand has been preserved. Without timely treatment, he would have had to live without his thumb permanently, leading to serious difficulties in daily activities.
