One-Day Farmer Training on Enhancing Water Productivity in Agriculture Concluded

Udaipur: A one-day farmer training program on “Enhancing Water Productivity in Agriculture” was organized on February 19, 2026, at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dungarpur. The program was conducted under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Irrigation Water Management, operating under the Directorate of Research at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.
On this occasion, Project In-charge Dr. K. K. Yadav informed the farmers about the ongoing research activities under the project and emphasized the importance of irrigation water quality in improving agricultural productivity.
The Head and Chief Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dungarpur, Dr. C. M. Balai, highlighted the role of proper nutrient management in enhancing water productivity.
Engineer Balram Sharma from the College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur, provided detailed information on drip and sprinkler irrigation methods, explaining how farmers can conserve irrigation water while increasing crop yields.
Assistant Professor of Horticulture at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, Dr. Shalini Pilania, guided farmers on drip irrigation in fruit crops and elaborated on the water requirements and maintenance of fruit plants during the summer season.
A total of 60 male and female farmers participated in the training program.
