Golden Opportunity for Children: Present a New Business Model for the “City of Lakes” at Jaipur Bal Mahotsav
Udaipur: The upcoming Jaipur Bal Mahotsav is set to become a unique platform of inspiration and innovation for children from Udaipur district. Through this festival, children will have the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas by presenting Udaipur—the “City of Lakes”—not just as a traditional tourist destination, but as a model of entrepreneurship and innovation. The campaign poster was released by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
According to Digital Bal Mela founder Janhvi Sharma, children who wish to participate must prepare a 2–3 minute video explaining how Udaipur’s lakes, palaces, tribal culture, handicrafts, and folk art can be transformed into an integrated business model. Suggested themes include linking lake conservation with community-based eco-enterprises, developing traditional miniature paintings into a global digital brand, and transforming heritage walks into experience-based cultural startups.
The initiative aims to cultivate a new perspective on tourism among young minds—encouraging them to look beyond sightseeing and focus on generating local employment, promoting creative industries, and developing sustainable business opportunities.
Interested participants must register on the Digital Bal Mela website or send their video via WhatsApp to 8005915026. Selected participants will receive an opportunity to present at the state-level मंच and will be honored with special recognition.
Sharma emphasized that in a culturally rich district like Udaipur, children’s imaginative thinking can shape the future. If the younger generation integrates heritage with business innovation, the City of Lakes can emerge as a model for a new economic framework.
This initiative is expected to enhance awareness among Udaipur’s children about innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural preservation.
