Narendra Modi Slams Congress in Meerut, Says AI Summit Turned Into Political Arena

Meerut: After inaugurating the Meerut Metro, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Congress over protests held during the AI Global Summit. He alleged that the opposition party turned an international event into what he described as an arena of “dirty and naked politics.”

Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister stated that the AI Global Summit was not a BJP event but a national program, and no BJP leaders were present at the time. He said the summit was meant to enhance India’s global standing, but the Congress allegedly violated decorum during the occasion. According to him, the party’s conduct at such a global platform has been widely condemned.

Metro Expansion Under BJP Government

Highlighting the government’s achievements in urban infrastructure, the Prime Minister said that before 2014, metro expansion in India was progressing at a slow pace, with services operational in only five cities during the Congress-led government. He claimed that under the BJP government, metro services are now running in more than 25 cities, and India has become the world’s third-largest metro network. He added that urban connectivity has significantly improved and infrastructure projects are no longer delayed as they were in the past.

Allegations of Personal Attacks

The Prime Minister further alleged that Congress leaders harbor personal animosity toward him and attempt to target him politically. He also accused them of making remarks against his family. He reiterated that national events like the AI Summit should remain above partisan politics and that maintaining decorum at international platforms is the responsibility of all political parties.
