Under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Udaipur, Hindustan Zinc Limited successfully organized the 25th Tripartite Committee Meeting to discuss the health, safety, and welfare of mine workers.
The meeting was attended by R.T. Mandekar, Deputy Director General of Mines Safety, North-West Region; Arun Misra, Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc; and K.S. Shaktawat, General Secretary of the Hindustan Zinc Workers Federation. The meeting was chaired by CEO Arun Misra, where the committee held detailed discussions aimed at strengthening safety practices and enhancing standards in the mining sector.
During the meeting, R.T. Mandekar emphasized the importance of prioritizing ventilation in mines. He highlighted the need for annual actionable plans, effective implementation strategies, and accident and near-miss analysis presentations with predictive outcomes. He stated that such annual meetings would further reinforce a strong culture of safety initiatives across all operations.
Speaking at the meeting, Arun Misra said, “At Hindustan Zinc, safety is our top priority. The learnings from the tripartite meeting held in collaboration with DGMS are among the best ways to understand and strengthen mine safety in line with our vision of zero-harm operations. We continuously adapt our practices to ensure a safety-first culture, and with the support of our Workers Federation and DGMS, we are progressing towards making our mining operations safer, smarter, and more sustainable.”
