Mewar Royals Secure Semifinal Spot with 78-Run Victory

Udaipur: In the fifth match of the 8-day Rockwoods Blazing Strikers Cricket Cup, Mewar Royals delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Hastinapur Warriors by 78 runs and book their place in the semifinals. The match was played at Wonder Cement Cricket Academy, Shikarbadi Cricket Ground.

Batting first, Mewar Royals put up a dominant display. Karan Singh scored an unbeaten 73, while Shaurya Shaktawat smashed a quick 62 off just 33 balls, taking the team to a commanding position. Their excellent partnership powered Mewar Royals to a massive total of 215 for 4 in 20 overs.

In reply, Hastinapur Warriors faltered under pressure and were bowled out for 137 in just 14.3 overs. Hitesh Patel starred with the ball, claiming five crucial wickets for 40 runs to dismantle the opposition’s batting lineup. Mohit Jain also impressed, picking up three wickets. The victory was a complete team effort, with both batting and bowling departments contributing significantly.

At the post-match award ceremony, Hitesh Patel was named Player of the Match, receiving the award from former Ranji Trophy player Tariq Khan. The Super Striker of the Match award went to Shaurya Shaktawat, presented by former cricketer Anil Mathur, while Mohit Jain received the Best Bowler of the Match award from UDCA Vice President Mukesh Kumawat. The ceremony concluded with Chairman Sunil Laddha, along with former Rajasthan Cricket Association Secretary Mahendra Sharma, honoring distinguished guests with special mementos.

Najafgarh Sultan End GROS’s Unbeaten Run

In the second match, Najafgarh Sultan faced Global Rule of Success (GROS) in a thrilling contest. The Sultan secured a convincing 5-wicket victory, bringing an end to GROS’s unbeaten streak in the tournament.

Batting first, GROS captain Hardik Sharma scored the season’s first century, leading his side to a competitive total of 180 runs in 20 overs. Despite the challenging target, Najafgarh Sultan displayed patience and teamwork during the chase. Sohrab Dhaliwal played a blistering unbeaten knock of 49 off just 24 balls, decisively shifting the momentum in his team’s favor.

Guru Vashishtha and Prashant Chaudhary claimed three wickets each, playing a vital role in restricting GROS from posting a bigger total. Despite the defeat, GROS confirmed their place in the semifinals of the tournament based on their strong overall performance.

Guru Vashishtha was declared Player of the Match for his outstanding contribution. The award was presented by Phoolchand (Committee Member, Delhi Cricket Association Leagues & Tournaments Department), Narendra Chanal (BCCI Coach), and Kailash Kevaliya (former player).
