District Legal Services Authority Sets Up Stall at Amrita Haat Fair
Public Awareness Drive Conducted; Street Play Staged to Prevent Child Marriage
Udaipur: Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udaipur, set up an awareness stall at the Amrita Haat Fair being held from February 18 to 24, 2026. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of DLSA Chairman Gyan Prakash Gupta and ADJ Kuldeep Sharma.
ADJ Kuldeep Sharma stated that considering the large participation of women workers and visitors from various villages of Udaipur district, the stall was established to provide legal information and assistance to the general public. Visitors to the fair were informed about various schemes and initiatives, including the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS) Scheme, NALSA Veer Yojana, the Child Labour Eradication Campaign, free legal aid services, the Child Marriage Prevention Campaign, the 100-day Public Utility Services campaign, the NALSA helpline (15100), the NALSA portal, matters related to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), environmental protection, and other awareness programs.
To curb child marriages in rural areas, schoolgirls staged a play highlighting the harmful consequences of child marriage. Through the performance, women participants were educated about the adverse effects of child marriage and were administered a pledge not to conduct or participate in child marriages.
