Amrita Haat Fair Concludes; Sales Exceed ₹29 Lakh

Udaipur: The Amrita Haat Fair organized in the district concluded on a grand and dignified note, with the closing ceremony presided over by District Pramukh Mamta Kunwar. A large number of public representatives, officials, and citizens were present on the occasion. All guests on the मंच were welcomed with traditional uparna, turbans, and mementos by Sanjay Joshi, Deputy Director, Women Empowerment Department.

In his welcome address, Sanjay Joshi provided details of the various programs organized during the fair. District Pramukh Mamta Kunwar stated that the Amrita Haat Fair is an important initiative aimed at economically empowering women self-help groups. The fair featured exhibitions and sales of handicrafts, handloom products, food items, and other local products made by women’s groups from across the district, giving them an opportunity to become self-reliant.

During the program, outstanding women self-help groups were honored for their achievements. Women participants and visitors appreciated the fair, describing it as an inspiring platform for women’s empowerment.

Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Udaipur, informed that providing free legal aid to the public is the Authority’s primary objective. He stated that eligible individuals are provided free legal representation, legal advice, and necessary assistance in court matters. He urged women to become aware of their legal rights and contact the Authority for free assistance.

Puneet Sharma, Joint Director of the Statistics Department, elaborated on the theme of “Udaipur Panch Gaurav.” He highlighted Fateh Sagar Lake and Lake Pichola, marble and granite, mahua, custard apple, and swimming as key sources of pride for the district. He noted that Udaipur’s glory lies in its rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, natural beauty, folk arts, and social harmony, along with progress in education, tourism, and women’s empowerment.

On the closing day, a lottery was conducted for visitors who made purchases worth more than ₹1,000. The winners included Vidushi, Birjiyas Fatima, Meenu, Prerna Kohta, Hemlata, Gajendra, Jitendra, Taruna Lohar, Hansa, and Alsikant Bhatt, who were awarded prizes by the dignitaries.

Total sales at the fair exceeded ₹29 lakh.

In the end, Deputy Director Sanjay Joshi expressed gratitude to all guests and participants and thanked the district administration, police department, medical and health department, Udaipur Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Home Guards, and other administrative departments for their support in successfully organizing the fair.
