Udaipur: A quarterly review meeting of various district-level committees under the Agriculture Department, including DLAC (District Level Agriculture Committee), ATMA Udaipur, Horticulture Department, and other agriculture schemes, was held on Tuesday at the District Collectorate Mini Hall. The meeting was chaired by Additional District Collector (City) Jitendra Ojha under the guidance of District Collector Namit Mehta.
The meeting reviewed the progress of departmental flagship schemes, the current status of Rabi crops, and the implementation of various agricultural programs in detail.
During the meeting, ADM Ojha instructed officials to ensure that the benefits of both state and central government agricultural schemes reach the maximum number of eligible farmers in a timely manner. He emphasized accelerating progress by reviewing scheme approvals, pending cases, and achievements against targets point by point.
Sudhir Verma, Joint Director of Agriculture, presented the status of wheat, gram, mustard, and other Rabi crops in the district. Discussions also covered sowing areas, expected production, and weather conditions. The ADM instructed officials to ensure the availability of advanced agricultural technologies, high-quality seeds, and fertilizers for farmers.
The progress of training programs, farmer workshops, and exposure visits under the ATMA scheme was also reviewed. Officials stated that farmers are being encouraged to adopt modern farming techniques, drip and sprinkler irrigation, organic farming, and horticultural crop cultivation.
Under horticulture department schemes, discussions were held on the distribution of fruit plants, promotion of protected cultivation (polyhouse/shade net), nursery development, and vegetable production.
The ADM highlighted that agriculture is a key component of the district’s economy and urged all related departments to work in coordination. He instructed officials to increase field visits, resolve issues on-site, establish direct communication with farmers, promote agricultural innovations, involve more farmers, and encourage the adoption of natural and traditional cow-based techniques to reduce the harmful effects of chemicals in agriculture.
District-level officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture, and ATMA Udaipur departments and other related departments attended the meeting.
