Scout and Guide Organization Playing a Vital Role in the Holistic Development of Youth

Udaipur – Under the aegis of Rajasthan State Bharat Scouts and Guides Headquarters, Udaipur, a District-Level Proficiency Rover Training Camp and a Divisional-Level Special Scouts and Guides Training Camp for specially-abled participants were organized.

The closing ceremony of the camp was held in the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pratap Singh Dhakad, Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, as the Chief Guest, and Renu Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Abhilasha Special School, as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the Scout and Guide organization plays a significant role in the holistic development of youth. He emphasized that when young individuals are provided timely opportunities to learn values and discipline, it leads to the development of strong character and ensures a cultured and capable future generation for the nation. He highlighted the importance of ensuring the systematic operation of Rovering activities in higher educational institutions. Organizing rover leader training, college-level rover camps, and activities not only enhances students’ skills but also promotes their participation in community development programs. He extended his best wishes to the Rovers of MPUAT, Udaipur, and the specially-abled Scouts and Guides of Abhilasha Special School undergoing training. He also highly appreciated the efforts of District CO Scout Surendra Kumar Pandey for guiding youth in a positive direction through Rovering activities.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Renu Singh said that Bharat Scouts and Guides provides equal opportunities to all, including students from economically weaker sections, to progress through various stages such as Tritiya Sopan, State Award, and President’s Award. It also offers opportunities to participate in national and international camps, enabling them to showcase and refine their talents. She expressed gratitude to CO Scout Surendra Kumar Pandey for facilitating the selection of four Scouts and four Guides from her institution for participation at the national-level camp being organized for specially-abled Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers at Gadpuri, Haryana, under the aegis of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, New Delhi.

On this occasion, Assistant State Organization Commissioner (Scout) of Udaipur Division, Manmohan Swarnkar, formally welcomed the guests. Vice Principal Shama Parveen of Abhilasha Special School and Group Leader Dr. Dharmapal Singh Dudi of MPUAT also shared their views.

Five Rovers of MPUAT, Udaipur, who received the State Award Rover Award from the Hon’ble Governor, were honored with certificates presented by the Vice-Chancellor to Group Leader Dr. Dharmapal Singh Dudi. Rover Virendra Singh Chundawat of Headquarters Open Rovers Crew was also awarded the State Award Rover certificate.

Pandey informed that the Proficiency Rover Training Camp was conducted by Leader Trainer Subhash Chandra, while the Special Scouts and Guides Camp was directed by CO Scout Surendra Kumar Pandey. Harishankar Sharma, Vishal Gupta, Virendra Singh Chundawat, Devesh Lakshkar, Amit Yadav, and Chanda Sisodia provided continuous support in organizing the camp.

During the campfire program, participating Rovers and Scouts presented colorful cultural performances. Winners were felicitated, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Leader Trainer Subhash Chandra. The evening session also featured vibrant cultural performances.
