Workshop Organized Under Panch Gaurav Scheme

Sriganganagar – A one-day workshop was organized at Tantia University by the District Industry and Commerce Center under the State Government’s Panch Gaurav Scheme. Under the government’s “One District, One Product” policy, Sriganganagar’s Panch Gaurav includes mustard oil, kinnu (mandarin oranges), Sheesham wood, athletics in sports, and the Gurudwara Buddhajohad as a key tourism site.

Deputy Commissioner Shri Dinesh Rajpurohit stated that the workshop was conducted as part of the state government’s scheme. During the event, Deputy Director of the Horticulture Department, Ms. Preeti Bala Garg, provided information about government grants for establishing new orchards, as well as facilities like greenhouses, polyhouses, and shade-net houses. District Industry Officer Shri Bhagirath highlighted that Sriganganagar is a leading producer of mustard with high-quality oil.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. U.S. Shekhawat, noted that Sriganganagar mustard oil is highly valued not only in Rajasthan but across India, and it is particularly sought after in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Deputy Commissioner Shri Dinesh Rajpurohit also explained the “One District, One Product” policy and briefed participants on various schemes, including the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, Vishwakarma Youth Incentive Scheme, Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, and the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, highlighting available loans, grants, and other benefits.

The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Ms. Preeti Bala Garg, Shri Rajpurohit, RECO Regional Manager Shri M.C. Meena, Shri Madan Sharma from the Forest Department, Shri Anupam Singhamar and Shri Shubham Jain from the Economics & Statistics Department, and Dean Dr. Shekhawat. Awareness boards, folders, and jute bags were also unveiled. A large number of students attended, including representatives from the Tantia Group Youth Cooperative Society, led by Shri Vishal Singh Verma, and Shri Vipul Wadhwa from Tantia University’s MSME & ODOP Excellence Center. Guests were honored with mementos, and the stage was managed by District Industry Officer Shri Bhagirath.

Cabbage Bouquets as a Highlight
Unlike typical events where fruit bouquets are presented, the highlight of this workshop was the unique cabbage bouquets grown at Tantia University’s agricultural farm, which were gifted to the guests and drew significant attention.
