District-Level “Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad–2026” Organized

Kota: Under the joint aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the district-level program of “Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad–2026” was organized on Saturday at Om Kothari Institute of Management and Research in Kota. The theme of the event was “50 Years of the Emergency – Lessons for Democracy.”

A total of 21 young participants expressed their views on the theme, emphasizing its contemporary relevance. They stated that Indian democracy has grown stronger over time and that everyone must contribute to ensuring that circumstances like the Emergency never arise again. The speakers highlighted that a strong democracy and independent media are essential for the nation’s progress.

The top five winners — Chitranksha Gaur, Kashish Gaur, Keshav Gaur, Saniya Parashar, and Khushi Jha — were selected to represent the district at the state-level competition. The winners were awarded certificates and mementos, while all participants received certificates of participation.

Judges evaluated the participants based on several criteria, including relevance to the topic, clarity and structure of ideas, oral communication and body language, innovation and creativity, language and fluency, and time management. The panel of judges included economist and retired principal Dr. Gopal Singh; retired IAS officer P. C. Pawan; former Joint Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal; former Student Union President of JDB College, Dr. Prachi Dixit; and District NSS Coordinator Mrs. Reena Kumari, all of whom also shared their views.

The chief guest of the program was Dr. Narendra Gupta, State Liaison Officer, Secretariat, Jaipur. The special guest was Prof. Vijay Pancholi, Assistant Director, College Education Council, Kota. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

Institute Director Dr. Amit Singh Rathore delivered the welcome address and provided an overview of the event. The program was conducted by NSS Programme Officer Prateek Gupta, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Sachin Patodiya.

Among those present were Vishal Joshi, President of the Private Student Welfare Association; social worker Yagyadatt Hada; Pankaj Sharma; Shankar Askandani; Principal Dr. Snehlata Dharamavat; Mohit Pant; Anurag Chauhan; Kulvinder Singh; and participants, lecturers, and students from various colleges across Kota district.
