Udaipur: On the occasion of Yashwant Aanchaliya’s birthday, the Udaipur Wholesale Gold Jewellers Association and Parmarth Seva Sansthan jointly organised a blood donation camp and a grand Holi-themed Kavi Sammelan at Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal.
The evening resonated with laughter and poetry as renowned humorists and poets entertained the audience with witty verses and festive spirit. The event was presided over by City MLA Tarachand Jain. Distinguished guests included Congress State General Secretary Lal Singh Jhala, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Aanchaliya, social worker Anil Punamiya, Dr. Mahendra Sojatia of Sojatia Jewellers, Prakash Paliwal from Miraj Group, Mohan Makhija of Alankar Jewellers, and former RNT Principal Dr. Lakhan Poswal.
The Kavi Sammelan began with a Saraswati Vandana by poetess Gauri Mishra. Satirist Tejnarayan Sharma Bechain from Gwalior captivated the audience with his sharp political satire and humorous compositions, earning loud applause. His witty takes on contemporary social and political issues had the audience in splits.
Poet Surendra Yadavendra from Baran brought laughter with his comic poem on modern internet relationships, while Deepak Parik from Bhilwara charmed listeners with light-hearted humor. Agra’s Laughter Champion Wafa presented emotionally stirring lines blending patriotism and realism, receiving a standing ovation. वीर रस poets Satyanarayan Santan and Mukesh Molwa from Indore infused the gathering with patriotic fervor.
The event was energetically conducted by Udaipur’s Rao Ajatshatru, whose Holi-themed verses such as “Keechad uske paas tha, mere paas gulaal…” added vibrant festive colour to the evening and drew enthusiastic applause.
Speaking on the occasion, Association Patron Yashwant Aanchaliya said that for the past several years, the Association has been organising Holi Kavi Sammelans to provide healthy entertainment to the citizens. This year marked the third blood donation camp, ensuring support for those in medical need.
Under the leadership of Association President Jitendra Kothari and guidance from Bhanwarlal Bohra, the event was coordinated by Gajendra Soni, Shailesh Mehta and Parasdevi Aanchaliya. Guests and poets were honoured with traditional turbans, shawls and mementos.
A blood donation camp was also organised at Field Club, where police officials, donors and association members contributed enthusiastically, collecting 102 units of blood for the needy.
During the ceremony, several young achievers were felicitated as “Rising Stars,” including Akshat Hathi, Abhinandan Tated, Dhanaditya Siroya, Gopal Soni, Hridayang Singhattwadiya, Raunak Chaplot, Narendra Singh, Nitin Nachani, Shubham Dak, Vinay Soni, Yorik Jain and Shanu Siroya. The programme was poetically anchored by Prakash Singhvi.
The event beautifully blended social service with cultural celebration, reflecting the spirit of Holi through both generosity and joyful expression.
