Chittorgarh,  Ahead of International Women’s Day, Vedanta’s flagship social initiative Nand Ghar organized a Nand Ghar Felicitation Ceremony in Chittorgarh. On the occasion, 40 Anganwadi workers were honoured for their dedication and significant contribution in strengthening early childhood care, nutrition, and community engagement across villages in the district.

Through more than 8,000 Nand Ghars across Rajasthan, the initiative continues to work towards improving child nutrition, early education, and women’s empowerment.

The ceremony was attended by C. P. Joshi, Member of Parliament from Chittorgarh, District Collector Alok Ranjan, Vedanta Group CSR Head Anupam Nidhi, and Chanderiya Smelting Complex IBU Director Alok Ranjan, along with other senior officials from Vedanta and the district administration. The dignitaries appreciated the relentless efforts of Anganwadi workers who play a vital role in supporting child nutrition, assisting mothers, and strengthening rural communities.

Organized to mark International Women’s Day, the program highlighted the crucial role of women in building healthy families and empowered rural communities. Community members, local representatives, Anganwadi workers, and Nand Ghar representatives were also present at the event. The program recognized grassroots women leaders who are shaping a brighter future for children and families.

On this occasion, 261 Nand Ghars built in the region were formally handed over to the community, marking an important step toward strengthening early childhood care, nutrition, and women’s empowerment at the village level. These Nand Ghars have been developed by Hindustan Zinc Limited across various blocks of the district, including 60 in Bhadesar, 113 in Chittorgarh, 62 in Gangrar, 3 in Bhupal Sagar, 5 in Nimbahera, and 18 in Rashmi.

District Collector Alok Ranjan extended his wishes to women on International Women’s Day and said that Anganwadi workers, village facilitators, and helpers are the backbone of grassroots service delivery. They ensure that essential services such as nutrition, healthcare, and early childhood education reach every child and mother. He added that platforms like Nand Ghar are strengthening the Anganwadi system and empowering frontline workers to bring positive change in communities. Honouring women and girls on International Women’s Day reflects the recognition of their vital role in building society.

One of the honoured Anganwadi workers from a Nand Ghar expressed her happiness, saying, “Working at a Nand Ghar helps us serve children and families in our village more effectively. With better learning tools, nutrition support, and improved facilities for children, we can connect with the community in a stronger way. This recognition motivates us to continue our work with greater dedication.”

Nand Ghar works closely with the government, Anganwadi workers, and local communities across the country to strengthen the existing Anganwadi ecosystem and improve access to nutrition, early education, healthcare services, and opportunities for women’s empowerment in rural India.
