Udaipur Divisional Commissioner Honoured on International Women’s Day

Udaipur: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an inspiring program was organized in the Udaipur division where Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, who has made significant contributions to the development of tribal areas and the promotion of sports, was specially honored. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from several talented women athletes associated with sports, their parents, and sports enthusiasts. The atmosphere of the program reflected the spirit of women’s empowerment and sportsmanship.

International-level lacrosse players who have brought recognition to the country also participated in the event. Among them were Sunita Meena, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Dali Gameti, Meera Douja, Yashishtha Batra, Yashoda Gameti, Vishakha Meghwal, Roshni Bose, Janvi Rathore, Mukan Kumari Gurjar, and Hemlata Dangi, along with many other national and international-level women athletes. All the players and sports lovers appreciated the efforts of the Divisional Commissioner, who has been continuously working to promote hidden sports talent in tribal regions.

The athletes and their parents said that there is no shortage of talent in tribal areas, but due to a lack of resources many talents remain undiscovered. In such a situation, the initiatives taken by the Divisional Commissioner to develop sports facilities, provide training opportunities, and encourage players are highly commendable. As a result of these efforts, several athletes from these regions are now making their mark at national and international levels.

In her address, Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani motivated the women athletes and told them that they should never consider themselves inferior to anyone. She said that confidence, discipline, and continuous practice are the keys to a sportsperson’s success. If athletes move forward with dedication and hard work toward their goals, they can bring pride not only to their region but also to the nation at the international level.

She also emphasized that sports are not limited to winning or losing; they are an important medium for personality development, self-confidence, and leadership skills. Through sports, young people develop discipline, team spirit, and a sense of responsibility, which motivates them to progress in every field of life.

The Divisional Commissioner especially encouraged girls and young women from tribal areas to come forward and participate in sports. She stated that the government and administration are committed to providing better training, facilities, and opportunities to talented athletes so that they can fully utilize their potential and set a positive example in society.

She also conveyed to the athletes that along with personal achievements, it is equally important to understand their responsibilities toward society.
