Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top five silver producers globally, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CMR Green Technologies Limited to manufacture zinc alloys at the upcoming Zinc Park in Rajasthan.
CMR Green Technologies is India’s largest non-ferrous metal recycling company and among the biggest in the world. This marks the second major partnership for the Zinc Park project. Earlier, Hindustan Zinc had signed an MoU with Tripura Group, further strengthening the park’s position as India’s first integrated ecosystem for zinc-based industrial applications.
Under the MoU, CMR Green Technologies will establish a manufacturing facility within Zinc Park that will focus on producing high-quality, low-emission zinc alloys. These alloys are essential for industries such as automotive, infrastructure, die-casting, and consumer goods.
The project will enable downstream value addition in zinc, promote sustainable metal processing, and support India’s self-reliance in industrial materials.
The Zinc Park project was first announced by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024. At the event, Anil Agarwal described the initiative as a game-changing step for India’s downstream metals ecosystem.
The park is being jointly developed by Hindustan Zinc Limited and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation. It aims to become a fully integrated, renewable-energy-powered hub for zinc manufacturing.
Its strategic location near Hindustan Zinc’s operations in Chanderiya, Dariba, and Debari will ensure strong logistics and reliable raw material supply.
The development of Zinc Park reflects Rajasthan’s continued commitment to industrial growth and innovation. The park is expected to host MSMEs and large enterprises engaged in galvanizing, die-casting, zinc oxide production, and other related industries.
With secure raw material linkages, long-term supply agreements, commercial incentives, and structured performance frameworks, Zinc Park is set to become a catalyst for value creation, job generation, and advanced manufacturing in the state. The initiative also supports India’s vision of becoming a global hub for metal-based innovation and sustainability.
Zinc alloys are gaining popularity due to their strength, corrosion resistance, and recyclability. They are widely used in automobiles, electronics, consumer appliances, hardware, and infrastructure, particularly in die-casting components, making them essential materials for modern industrial supply chains.
The facility at Zinc Park will meet rising domestic and international demand while promoting the principles of a circular economy through metal recovery and reuse.
Commenting on the collaboration, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, Arun Misra said:
“Zinc Park represents a strategic vision to drive industrial growth, local manufacturing, and sustainability through zinc-based applications. We are delighted to welcome CMR Green Technologies as a partner in this journey. Their leadership in non-ferrous metal recycling and strong capabilities in alloy production will play a vital role in building a future-ready, innovation-driven zinc ecosystem.”
CMR Green Technologies Limited has long-standing partnerships with major automotive manufacturers and key industrial players. Its operations are powered by advanced technology and strong sustainability practices, with recycled metal production generating up to 95% lower emissions compared to primary metal production.
The company has deep expertise in circular metal processing and alloy manufacturing, especially for the automotive sector, which is among the largest consumers of non-ferrous alloys globally.
Through this partnership, Hindustan Zinc Limited is accelerating the creation of India’s first downstream zinc industrial cluster. The initiative aims to promote innovation, sustainability, and long-term economic value while strengthening domestic value addition and supporting circular economy practices.
The Zinc Park is expected to play a key role in boosting Rajasthan’s industrial development and supporting India’s ambition of becoming a global center for sustainable metals and advanced manufacturing.
