####Patriotic Melodies Mark 150 Years of Vande Mataram

Udaipur:The 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram was celebrated with great patriotic fervor at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, where a grand musical tribute titled “Shatabdi Swar – Vande Mataram” captivated the audience with powerful patriotic performances. The event was organized under the aegis of the Office of the Dean of Student Welfare.


Held at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) auditorium, the musical evening featured renowned artist Pandit Gaurav Kale from Indore, who led a team of 24 performers along with Music Department Head Pamila Modi, presenting a series of inspiring compositions dedicated to the spirit of nationalism.


Through music, rhythm, and lyrical expression, Kale brought alive the emotions of sacrifice, patriotism, and devotion to the motherland. The performances reflected the timeless relevance of Vande Mataram and paid homage to the countless martyrs whose dedication shaped the nation.

Patriotic Wave Through Musical Performances

The programme commenced with the devotional tribute to the motherland “Vasundhara Parivar Hamara,” performed collectively by Pandit Kale, Pamila Modi, and the ensemble. This was followed by stirring renditions such as “Hume Veer Keshav Mile Aap Jab Se,” which set the tone of dedication and national pride.

Another powerful performance, “Nirmal Paayen Bhavna Yahi Rashtra Aaradhana,” depicted the emotional resolve and sacrifices of revolutionaries who laid down their lives for the country. The song “Pujya Maa Ki Archana Ka Ek Chhota Upkaran Hoon” highlighted the transformative influence of inspirational leaders who awaken a sense of discipline, sacrifice, and service towards the nation.

A particularly moving moment came with the rendition “Man Samarpit, Tan Samarpit Aur Yeh Jeevan Samarpit,” emphasizing unity, courage, and complete devotion to the nation. The patriotic spirit reached its peak when the ensemble performed “Le Chale Hum Rashtra Nauka Ko Bhanwar Se Paar Tak, Kesari Bana Sajake Veer Ka Shringar Kar,” prompting the audience to respond with enthusiastic chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

The chorus performances featured artists including Himanshi Shimli, Himank Gandharva, Titiksha Arya, Jyotibala Swarnkar, Anjali Jain, Priya Suthar, Sumit Mondal, Devesh Malav, Nikhil Kumar Satsangi, Manisha Dadhich, Prabhat Garasia, Adarsh Nayak, Amitabh Jain, Chetna Makwana, Kirti Seth, Manisha Pawar, Nikunj Gupta, Pragya Sharma, Sawan Garg, Vanshita Pandey, Vishal Rathore, and Dhananjay Dhruv. Musical accompaniment was provided by Harsh Vardhan Dhandhra on guitar, Hrithik Kumawat and Hariom Tiwari on tabla, Jitesh Solanki on harmonium, Bheru on octopad, and Vijay Dhandhra on keyboard.

Nation First for Those Connected to the Country

Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.P. Saraswat, who presided over the event, emphasized that those who truly remain connected to the nation always place the country above all else. He reflected on the century-long journey of organizations dedicated to national service, describing it as a difficult yet meaningful path built on sacrifice and commitment.

Chief Guest Prof. Manju Baghmar, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, said that when the idea of “Nation First” remains central in people’s minds, society and institutions remain secure, ensuring collective safety and progress.

The event was attended by Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Meera Mathur, Registrar V.C. Garg, Finance Controller Girish Kachhara, Controller of Examinations Mukesh Barabar, BJP Mahila Morcha State Vice President Alka Moondra, former Zila Pramukh Shantilal Meghwal, former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Umashankar Sharma, BJP State Representative Pramod Samar, RSS Department Sanghchalak Hemendra Shrimali, former Head of Music Department Prem Bhandari, along with professors, deans, directors, department heads, and faculty members of the university.

During the ceremony, guests also unveiled a commemorative poster dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, symbolizing a tribute to India’s enduring spirit of patriotism.
