Effigies of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu Burned in Udaipur

Udaipur: On Thursday, several organizations including the Democratic Thought Forum, All India People’s Forum, CPI (ML), CPI (M), PUCL, the Communist Party of India, AIPWA, and the Prakriti Manav Kendrit Jan Andolan staged a protest outside the District Collector’s office in Udaipur. The protesters burned effigies of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu to oppose what they described as imperialist war and to protest against rising domestic gas prices in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar Lal Chaudhary, State Secretary of CPI (ML), said that the United States is instigating wars to maintain its global dominance. He alleged that even when the President of Venezuela and his wife were abducted, the world remained silent and the Indian government did not say a word. He added that the Indian government has also maintained silence regarding attacks on Iran, which, according to him, should be opposed.

Professor Hemendra Chandaliya of the Democratic Thought Forum and the All India People’s Forum said that the United States has historically removed several heads of state in African and Latin American countries, and is now bombing innocent civilians. He said such actions are unacceptable to the world. He emphasized that India has traditionally followed a policy of non-alignment and should continue to adhere to it rather than aligning closely with the United States.

Dr. Farhat Bano, State Secretary of AIPWA, said that the conflict is the result of the power ambitions and “reckless leadership” of Trump and Netanyahu. She also criticized the recent ₹60 increase in domestic LPG prices, stating that it has significantly affected women managing household expenses.

Himmat Chhangwal, District Secretary of the Communist Party of India, said that the Prime Minister of India not speaking against the United States and Israel even after several days of the conflict shows pressure from the United States.

Advocate Arun Vyas, District President of the People's Union for Civil Liberties, said that this is one of the worst phases of India’s foreign policy, claiming that the country is bowing to American influence.

Manna Ram Dangi from the Prakriti Manav Kendrit Jan Andolan described Trump and Netanyahu as “war criminals” and said they should be punished. He urged peace-loving nations across the world to unite and work towards establishing global peace. He also warned that wars cause serious environmental damage, affecting all living beings.

The protest was attended by Comrade Saurabh Naruka, Comrade Pooja, Dr. Chandra Dev Ola, R. D. Vyas, and representatives of various democratic and left-leaning organizations. Protesters burned effigies of Trump and Netanyahu and raised slogans such as “Down with Imperialism,” “Stop Attacks on Iran,” and “Modi Government, Stop Supporting the United States.”
