District Collector and SP Conduct Surprise Inspection of Gas Agencies

Regular Supply of Domestic LPG Cylinders to Continue

Sri Ganganagar: In view of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the possibility of disruptions in the LPG supply chain, the district administration has intensified monitoring to prevent illegal stockpiling and black marketing of LPG cylinders. On Friday, District Collector Dr. Manju and Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan conducted a surprise inspection of the Sri Ganganagar Indane Gas Agency and its warehouse in the Purani Abadi area.

During the inspection, the condition and availability of cylinders at the warehouse were found to be satisfactory. Gas agency operator Sanjeev Poonia informed the officials that supplies from the bottling plant are arriving regularly on a daily basis and cylinders are being distributed to consumers according to regulations. However, he mentioned that there has been a surge in booking requests from consumers.

The officials also inspected the agency’s software and booking system. Consumers present at the site were asked about their issues, and most complaints were related to booking problems. According to the agency, these issues were mainly caused by the server being temporarily down.

The District Collector urged the public to remain patient regarding bookings and assured them that supplies are continuing regularly as per bookings. She stated that gas agencies are receiving adequate supply from the bottling plant and there is no need for panic. She emphasized that maintaining patience in the current situation will help ensure that genuine consumers continue to receive regular supplies.

She also pointed out that unnecessary or repeated bookings are slowing down the server speed. The District Collector directed the Acting District Supply Officer to increase public awareness about the booking process and instruct subordinate staff to assist consumers with bookings.

Gas agency operators were also instructed to deploy an additional staff member to guide customers about various booking platforms and contact numbers and to provide information politely and patiently. They were further advised to maintain calm and cooperative behavior while dealing with consumers.

The inspection was also attended by Additional District Collector (Administration) Subhash Kumar, Acting District Supply Officer Pooja Agrawal, enforcement staff, and other officials.
