Festival of Hope in Yellow: 45th Divyang Mass Wedding Begins with Ganpati Installation, 51 Couples to Tie the Knot

Udaipur: Amid an atmosphere filled with humanity, compassion, and dreams of a new life, the 45th free mass wedding ceremony for differently-abled and underprivileged couples began on Saturday at the Seva Mahatirth campus in Liyon Ka Guda, organized by the Narayan Seva Sansthan.

During this two-day ceremony, 51 couples will tie the sacred knot, including 25 differently-abled couples and 26 able-bodied couples. More than 700 guests from different states across India have gathered to witness this inspiring humanitarian celebration.

The ceremony began in the morning with the installation of Lord Ganpati and a devotional dance performance on the song “Ghar Mein Padharo Gajanand Ji.” This was followed by the traditional haldi and mehendi rituals, which filled the entire venue with joy and auspicious energy.

At 11:15 AM, all 51 couples, dressed in yellow attire, took their seats on the stage of the Hada Auditorium, beautifully decorated with yellow flowers. The ceremony formally commenced with the Ganpati installation performed by the institution’s Founder-Chairman Kailash 'Manav', along with Co-founder Kamla Devi, President Prashant Agarwal, and Directors Vandana Agarwal and Palak Agarwal, in the presence of distinguished guests.

Under the guidance of Vandana Agarwal and Palak Agarwal, guests applied haldi and mehendi to the couples as part of the rituals. Festive songs such as “Aaye Hai Meri Zindagi Mein Bahar,” “Haldi Lagao Tel Chadhavo Ri,” “Mharo Mehendi Ko Rang,” and “Shyam Naam Ki Mehendi” played in the background, with guests joyfully dancing and celebrating the occasion.

The ceremony was attended by chief guests Vijaya Kumari (Delhi), Trishal Sharma (South Africa), Mahiraj (Mauritius), and Prasanna Kumar Raut (Odisha). They were honored by Kailash ‘Manav’, Prashant Agarwal, Jagdish Arya, and Devendra Chaubisa with traditional Rajasthani turbans, shawls, and mementos.

The evening of the first day featured women’s musical performances and a dance evening. Cultural presentations included Radha-Krishna Raas dance, Rudravatar Hanuman, Durga’s nine divine forms, and dance dramas based on Lord Ram of Ayodhya, leaving the audience deeply moved.

Institution President Prashant Agarwal informed that on Sunday at 11:15 AM, all couples will take the seven sacred vows around the holy fire according to Vedic rituals, officially beginning their married life. The institution will also provide each couple with essential household items as gifts to help them start their new life.

Every Couple, A Story of Courage

The most remarkable aspect of this mass wedding is that each couple carries a unique story of struggle, courage, and hope.

Some couples have overcome physical challenges, while others have battled social and financial hardships but refused to give up on their dreams.

Their journeys make this event more than just a wedding ceremony. It becomes a powerful message to society that a person’s true identity lies not in limitations, but in determination and resilience.

That is why this mass wedding is not merely an event—it is a celebration of humanity, confidence, and the beginning of a new life.
