Udaipur: A National Lok Adalat was organized on Saturday under the aegis of the **National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur. The event was conducted under the guidance of Gyan Prakash Gupta, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Udaipur. The Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Justice Gupta.
Judges, advocates, officials from banks and insurance companies, and litigants were present at the Udaipur headquarters during the event.
Additional District Judge Kuldeep Sharma informed that a total of 5,47,520 cases were disposed of during the National Lok Adalat, with awards amounting to approximately ₹30.61 crore passed. Out of these, 23,779 cases were pending in various courts, tribunals, and commissions, while 5,23,741 were pre-litigation cases.
ADJ Kuldeep Sharma explained that once a case is resolved in a National Lok Adalat, it is considered finally settled, and no appeal can be filed against the decision. Additionally, the court fees paid by the parties are refunded, and the amicable settlement helps maintain mutual harmony and goodwill between the parties.
For the successful organization of the Lok Adalat, a total of 15 benches were constituted at the Udaipur headquarters and various tehsil courts.
During the Lok Adalat, representatives and officials from several institutions were present, including Bank of India, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, L&T Finance, Shriram Finance, RBL Bank, Bandhan Bank, BSNL, and other financial institutions and organizations. ⚖️
