Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Addresses International Vaishya Mahasammelan

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the crucial role of the Vaishya community in India’s economic and social development while addressing the International Vaishya Mahasammelan in Bhankrota on Saturday. He said the community has historically been at the forefront of the nation’s economic growth, serving as the backbone of India’s economy through trade, entrepreneurship, and integrity over thousands of years.

The Chief Minister noted that from small traders to large industrialists, the Vaishya community has significantly contributed to India’s economic strength since independence. In Rajasthan, the community’s efforts are visible across handicrafts, gem and jewelry, textiles, and food industries, reflecting dedication and vision.

Commitment to Social Responsibility and Youth Empowerment

Sharma emphasized that the Prime Minister’s vision of Developed India 2047 and Developed Rajasthan 2047 cannot be realized without the Vaishya community’s active participation. Experienced business leaders possess knowledge and expertise that should be transferred to the younger generation, encouraging startups and small enterprises. He highlighted that Vaishya communities, both in India and abroad, remain closely connected to social causes and their cultural heritage.

Addressing the youth, the Chief Minister urged them to become job creators, not just job seekers, and to pursue careers in industry with discipline, regular practice, and determination.

State Government Driving Inclusive Development

Sharma outlined the state government’s efforts to develop all sectors through structured roadmaps. Priority projects include Ram Jalesetu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, Indira Gandhi Canal, Ganganahor, Devas Project, and other water supply and irrigation initiatives. Efforts are also underway to ensure sufficient water for industries.

In the energy sector, Rajasthan has added 8,261 MW of production capacity, providing daytime electricity to farmers in 22 districts, with plans to supply all districts by 2027.

Unleashing Rajasthan’s Growth Potential

Sharma highlighted the state’s immense potential for economic development. In the first year alone, the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit resulted in MOUs worth ₹35 lakh crore, with over ₹8 lakh crore already realized through ground-breaking investments. Policies have been framed to boost mining, tourism, and industry, while youth policies encourage young people to enter industrial sectors. The ODOP (One District One Product) initiative strengthens local industries and provides employment opportunities at the district level.

Employment for Youth in Government and Private Sectors

The Chief Minister stated that the government is fulfilling its promise of creating 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh private sector jobs. Over 1.25 lakh government positions have already been filled, with 1.35 lakh recruitments in process, and the 2026 calendar will include 1.25 lakh new posts for recruitment.

Rajasthan Day Celebration

Sharma explained that Rajasthan Day is observed on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, marking the establishment of Greater Rajasthan on March 30, 1949, under the guidance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year, Rajasthan Day will be celebrated on March 19, honoring the state’s culture, spirit, and glorious history.

He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state government continues to work for the development of the most marginalized citizens. Over the past two-plus years, Rajasthan has ranked first in 11 welfare schemes, second in 5 national schemes, and third in 9 national programs. Sharma urged all attendees to ensure these welfare programs reach the needy.

Earlier during the Mahasammelan, the Chief Minister also honored meritorious students who cleared the UPSC examination.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Cooperative State Minister (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak, MP Madan Rathore, leaders Damodar Agrawal, Kalicharan Saraf, officials of the International Vaishya Mahasammelan, and numerous eminent personalities.
