Sri Ganganagar: A key meeting of the Rajasthan Khet and Gramin Mazdoor Union Bikaner district committee was held on Saturday in Bikaner. The meeting was attended by State President Durga Swami, State General Secretary Ramsharan Bagadia, and several senior office bearers. Important decisions were taken to strengthen the organization of farm and rural labourers.
During the meeting, members unanimously called for the formation of ward-level units in as many villages of the district as possible. Special emphasis was also placed on increasing the participation of women in the union’s activities.
Appointments of tehsil-level in-charges were also announced:
Bajrang Chhipa – Nokha Tehsil In-charge
Sunil Nayak – Kolayat Tehsil In-charge
Sheeshpal Nayak – Sridungargarh Tehsil In-charge
Mahendra Barupal – Bikaner Sadar Tehsil In-charge
Hanuman Lakhusar – Lunkaransar Tehsil In-charge
Shekhar Naval – Bikaner City In-charge
Omprakash Mehrda – Chhatargarh Area In-charge
In addition, a social media committee of the union for Bikaner district was also formed. Mahendra Barupal was appointed as the district coordinator, while Shivlal Jat and Shekhar Naval were appointed as co-coordinators.
Addressing the meeting, State President Durga Swami said that farm labourers play a crucial role in the current agricultural system, as the entire farming structure largely depends on their work. However, he stated that the government has not yet formulated concrete policies to resolve their issues. He emphasized that labourers must become aware of their rights and strengthen their struggle collectively.
State General Secretary Ramsharan Bagadia also urged farm labourers to remain organized and vigilant about their rights, and to actively participate in strengthening the ward units of the union across the district.
