Udaipur: Considering the limited availability of commercial gas cylinders in the district, a meeting was held on Monday at the Collectorate Mini Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Namit Mehta, with officials, gas distributors, and stakeholders in attendance. The discussion focused on ensuring the supply of gas based on 20% of the monthly average consumption from April 2025 to February 2026, as per the directives of the state government.
The meeting was attended by District Supply Officer First, Srishti Dabas; District Supply Officer Second, Manish Bhatnagar; sales officers from oil marketing companies; representatives of Adani Gas; Hotel Federation of Rajasthan; United Hotel Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Udaipur Hotel Association.
District LPG Coordinator Shlok Gupta informed that the district’s average daily consumption of commercial gas cylinders is 811, including usage by hospitals, educational institutions, temples, hotels-restaurants, corporate canteens, and bakeries. Following the state government’s directive for 20% supply, priority will be given to hospitals and educational institutions, which will receive 86 cylinders daily (51 for hospitals and 35 for educational institutions). Temples will receive 4 cylinders daily, while hotels and restaurants will receive approximately 70 cylinders daily.
Representatives of the Hotel Association raised the issue of small hotels, dhabas, and street vendors also requiring gas, to which the District Collector assured that their needs would be considered in the future.
During the meeting, the District Collector instructed Dilip Agrawal, Assistant Manager of Adani Gas, to immediately provide the list of households with installed PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections to oil marketing companies, so that termination vouchers can be issued and the gas distribution system streamlined.
It was unanimously decided in the meeting that, given the current circumstances, the supply of commercial gas cylinders to hospitals, educational institutions, temples, and hotels-restaurants will be ensured daily in the prescribed proportions.
