Udaipur, Public anger over rising inflation and fuel shortages came to the forefront as the Udaipur Dehat District Congress Committee staged a strong protest against the Central Government. The demonstration was held at Delhi Gate near Shanti Ji and Anandi Ji Memorial, where party workers also burned an effigy of the BJP government.

Led by District President Raghubir Singh Meena, the protest highlighted what leaders termed as anti-people policies of the Centre, blaming them for shortages of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG. The recent ₹60 hike in domestic gas cylinder prices also drew sharp criticism.
Raghubir Singh Meena stated that while the government claims in Parliament that there is no shortage of LPG, the ground reality shows otherwise, with gas agencies halting bookings. He alleged that the “double engine” government has completely failed due to its flawed policies.
He further added that rising LPG prices and the shortage of commercial cylinders have severely impacted small traders, dhaba owners, and restaurant operators. Many businesses are on the verge of closure, leading to job losses and financial distress for thousands of families.
During the protest, former MLA Preeti Shaktawat, along with women Congress workers, symbolically cooked rotis on a traditional stove, highlighting the burden on homemakers due to rising cooking gas prices.
The Congress party demanded an immediate rollback of the ₹60 increase in domestic LPG prices and urged the government to ensure timely availability of fuel, including petrol, diesel, and LPG, for the general public.
