Udaipur: Along with ensuring the smooth supply of domestic LPG cylinders, the district administration is taking strict action against illegal storage and black marketing of gas cylinders. In this regard, a vigilance team of the Supply Department conducted a major raid on Tuesday in the Nehru Bazaar area under the direction of District Supply Officer (First) and trainee IAS officer Ms. Srishti Dabas.
During the operation, carried out to curb illegal gas refilling and hoarding, a total of 8 unauthorized gas cylinders were seized.
The team, comprising Enforcement Inspectors Kaluram Ninama, Vishesh Meena, Dr. Komal Singh Solanki, and Additional Administrative Officer Rajendra Singh Ranawat, inspected several commercial establishments in Nehru Bazaar and Meenapada, where irregularities were found.
At Mogra Enterprises, located in Nehru Bazaar, 4 domestic gas cylinders were recovered from the upper premises. The operator failed to produce any valid documents related to these cylinders. Similarly, at Sunil Sales, one domestic gas cylinder and one 5-kg commercial cylinder were found illegally stored. Additionally, 2 domestic gas cylinders were seized near Rajhans Enterprises.
For violation of regulations, cases have been registered against all concerned firms under Sections 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
The District Supply Officer clarified that such drives against illegal gas storage and refilling will continue in the future as well.
