Udaipur: The organizing team of the two-day International Classical Dance Festival, scheduled to be held on April 26 and 27, met Tourism Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari to brief her about the event. The festival is being organized by the All India Dancers Association and Kathak Ashram Udaipur. Prominent members including Chandrakala Chaudhary, Kanishka Shrimali, Kuntal Joshi, and Pradeep Rawani were present during the meeting.
Kathak Ashram Director Chandrakala Chaudhary invited her to attend the festival as the Chief Guest and shared detailed information about the आयोजन. She assured full support from her side and promised departmental cooperation for the successful execution of the event.
Kanishka Shrimali from Yashwant Foundation informed that this will be the third time the International Classical Dance Festival is being held in India, and it will take place in Udaipur on April 26–27, 2026. Previously, the festival was organized in Nepal in 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand during 2019–20, and in Malaysia in 2020.
The festival in Udaipur will feature participation from approximately 400–500 artists and performers from India and abroad, showcasing a variety of classical dance forms. Special performances by renowned artists will present different traditional dance styles.
Ritesh Babu, Director of the All India Dancers Association, stated that this year’s festival will include several special attractions. A prestigious group from Delhi will present Up-Kathak, depicting the divine stories of Lord Krishna, while a Bharatanatyam group from Raipur will deliver a powerful performance of Shiv Tandav. Additionally, Kerala’s traditional Kathakali art form, known for its elaborate costumes and expressive gestures, will captivate audiences.
Following the grand success of the fifth edition, the organizers are working diligently to make the sixth edition even more magnificent, aiming to provide a global platform for India’s rich classical dance heritage.
