Udaipur: On the occasion of Rajasthan Day, a grand cultural evening was organized on Thursday at the Muktakashi stage of Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, under the joint auspices of the District Administration and the Tourism Department. The event showcased the rich folk culture and traditions of Rajasthan, with various folk artists winning the hearts of the audience with their mesmerizing performances.
The evening was graced by ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathore and ADM City Jitendra Ojha as chief guests. The Deputy Director of Tourism, Shikha Saxena, and Director of Lok Kala Mandal, Dr. Laeeq Hussain, welcomed the guests. They encouraged the artists and highlighted the importance of such events in preserving Rajasthan’s cultural heritage and passing it on to younger generations.
The program featured a variety of traditional performances:
Dharmendra Kumar and his group performed the Chari dance.
Lumbaram showcased extraordinary balance and skill in the Bhawai dance.
Under the direction of Kishan, female artists presented an enchanting Terah Taal performance.
Mohanlal Dangi and his team mesmerized the audience with Kathputli (puppet) art.
Kesulal and his troupe performed the energetic Gavri dance.
Moti Khan and his group from Jaisalmer enthralled the audience with soulful singing.
From Barmer, Leela Devi performed the Kalbelia dance, Meena Devi and her group performed Ghoomar, and Karuna Verma presented the Chari dance.
All artists brought Rajasthan’s folk traditions to life, creating a lively and engaging cultural experience. The Muktakashi stage was filled with city residents who enthusiastically enjoyed the performances.
The event not only added grandeur to the Rajasthan Day celebrations but also reinforced the importance of preserving folk art and culture. The program was anchored by Madhuri Sharma.
