Banswara: Gayatri Mandal Holds General Assembly, Announces Major Initiatives to Preserve Sanatan Traditions

Banswara: In a significant move to promote spiritual awareness and safeguard Sanatan traditions, Gayatri Mandal announced a series of structured, multidimensional initiatives during its general assembly held at Shri Pitambara Ashram. The Ashram will now be developed as a comprehensive center for spiritual consciousness and cultural education.

The assembly, chaired by the Mandal president, reviewed past activities, approved ongoing projects, and finalized plans for future initiatives aimed at public awareness, education, and preservation of Sanatan values.

Focus on Widespread Participation
Dilip Gupta, former commissioner and chief patron of the Mandal, praised the contributions of all members and emphasized the need for broad participation of Sanatan followers in the Mandal’s efforts.

Secretary Vinod Shukla, Senior Vice President Manohar G. Joshi, Vice President Animesh Purohit, Treasurer Anant Joshi, and Joint Secretary Subhash Bhatt presented detailed updates on organizational achievements, financial status, and future plans.

Several former presidents and senior members, including Vidyasagar Shukla, Ramshankar Joshi, Chandresh Vyas, Manohar H. Joshi, Dromil Trivedi, Kamal Bhatt, Chandrashekhar Joshi, Kishore Pathak, Anil Pandya, and Suresh Pandya, contributed key suggestions during the meeting.

Recognition of Outstanding Service
Financial advisor CA Anjani Trivedi and Treasurer Anant Joshi were honored with traditional shawls and ceremonial scarves for their notable contributions to the Mandal’s activities.

The assembly highlighted that ongoing efforts to strengthen the Mandal will continue, with a target of inducting 50 lifetime members this year. Annual membership and renewal campaigns for 2026–27 will commence from April 1.

Expansion of Activities
Decisions were made to expand the Mandal’s activities with greater focus on public awareness programs related to Sanatan Dharma and its traditions. Active participation from like-minded organizations, institutions, and groups will be sought.

Year-Round Programs
Planned activities include commemorating birth and death anniversaries of saints and scholars, organizing lectures, symposiums, and panel discussions, honoring prominent individuals, publishing the Pt. Mahadev Shukla memorial volumes, and reviving traditional Gorji practices through the establishment of a Gorji Council.

Vrat and Festival Coordination
The Mandal will conduct workshops, online discussions, and consensus-based decisions regarding auspicious dates, fasts, and rituals, ensuring active engagement of unemployed youth in ceremonial practices, as well as restructuring the women’s wing and Oriental Studies Research Institute.

Formation of Sub-Committees
To streamline operations, various sub-committees and event committees will be formed. Camps and training sessions on astrology, rituals, and ancient knowledge will be organized. Existing councils like the Pitambara Council and Shrividya Sadhana Council will be restructured, and new initiatives launched.

Enriched Reference Library
Plans were outlined to operationalize the Maharshi Pt. Pannalal Joshi Oriental Studies Reference Library, enabling public access to rare literature on Vedic, Puranic, and traditional knowledge.

Second Phase Development
Decisions were made to commence the second phase of Ashram expansion soon. Preparations for summer training camps on astrology, priestly duties, rituals, and spiritual practices were discussed. The annual calendar for 2026–27 was drafted, including festivals, rituals, workshops, and camps related to traditional knowledge and spiritual education.

The assembly marks a major step in institutionalizing Sanatan traditions and fostering community engagement while expanding the Ashram into a hub of spiritual learning and cultural preservation.
