Mumbai: Sony SAB’s show Ganesh Kartikeya brings to life timeless stories of devotion, family, and divine relationships through the journey of the Shiv family. The current storyline focuses on Goddess Parvati (Shrenu Parikh), who learns her true identity as the reincarnation of Goddess Sati and moves toward her destined union with Lord Mahadev (Avinesh Rekhi). Meanwhile, Tarakasur (Aamir Dalvi) continually challenges her path, testing her devotion and strength.
Adding a new emotional dimension to this journey is Ganga, Parvati’s elder sister, played by Kirti Chaudhary. Ganga’s personal feelings for Mahadev introduce a poignant conflict in the story.
As Parvati’s elder sister, Ganga is portrayed as graceful, compassionate, and deeply devoted. She dreams of marrying Mahadev, but when she learns about Parvati’s previous life and her divine connection with him, her world changes. Rising above her own desires, Ganga chooses love in its purest form and quietly steps aside for her sister’s destiny. Her journey of sacrifice and inner strength moves the audience profoundly. Meanwhile, Tarakasur continues to create obstacles in Parvati’s path, testing her courage and devotion, while Parvati moves closer to her union with Mahadev.
Speaking about her role, Kirti Chaudhary said, “I remember the first scene where Ganga realizes that Parvati and Lord Shiva are destined for each other. At that moment, she has to suppress all her emotions. That day was special for me because the scene wasn’t about dramatic expression but the emotions you can’t put into words. We did multiple takes, and every time I felt a lump in my throat, thinking about how hard it is to let go of something you truly desire. Ganga’s love is pure, but its strength lies in stepping back with dignity. That emotional balance made this journey very special for me.”
Watch Ganesh Kartikeya, Monday to Saturday at 8 PM, only on Sony SAB.
